Foundation governors wanted

The Brockington College Local Governing Board is seeking to recruit additional foundation governors to further strengthen its work.

  • Do you have a passion to contribute to your community?
  • Do you have a passion to share your skills, knowledge and experience?
  • Do you have a passion to serve Jesus in the world?

The Church of England vision for Education is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart. In line with the Church of England’s role as the established Church, the vision is for the common good of the whole community.

The role of the foundation governor includes the same duties as other governing body members. These can be summarised as a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement, by setting the strategic direction of the school, ensuring accountability, and monitoring and evaluating school performance.

A foundation governor also has an additional responsibility to ensure that the Church of England vision for education is at the heart of the school and is upheld in every decision that takes place.

If you have a passion to serve others and can spare a minimum of six to nine evenings per year, then please get in touch with Rev Jerry Taylor via j.taylor@brockington.leics.sch.uk or 01455 888679.
