Prospects provide careers information, advice and guidance for young people that are not in education, employment or training (NEET) aged 1619 (and up to 25 for young people with a learning disability or difficulty) on behalf of Leicestershire County Council.

They operate a drop-in and an appointment service in Hinckley and Loughborough and also provide support at outreach venues throughout the county.

Both of the centres are open Monday to Friday and can be contacted on 01455 632719 (Hinckley)  or 01509 214002 (Loughborough)

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Y9 Information evening

As part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award enrollment process for current Year 9 we are hosting a parent and pupil information evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday 23rd May. During the evening there will be given a presentation from Mr Mattock, DofE Manager, as well as the chance to ask any questions about the Award and what is expected of participants and parents.

If you wish to attend the evening then please email Mr Mattock at pgm@brockington.leics.sch.uk by Friday 19th May to confirm how many seats you will require for the evening.​

English Language English Language Component 2 (Non-fiction)
Section A: Reading (40 marks)

Pupils will be required to read and answer questions on two unseen non-fiction texts. One will be from the 19th century and one from the 21st century. Pupils are then required to produce two pieces of transactional writing. These could be in the form of letters, reviews, reports, speeches or articles.
